Friend Confirms Newman’s Cancer

This kind of story drives us crazy.
Paul Newman’s longtime friend and neighbor, writer A.E. Hotchner, has confirmed the actor has cancer.
Hotchner partnered with the star to start Newman’s Own salad dressing company and tells the Associated Press that the actor told him he had cancer 18 months ago.
What kind of “longtime friend” would speak to a news wire service about such a personal matter, especially when Newman is notoriously private?
He explains, “I know that it’s a form of cancer. It’s a form of cancer and he’s dealing with it.”
Newman’s rep released a statement Tuesday amid rumors of his client’s failing health saying, “Newman says he’s doing nicely.”
Everyone else needs to zip it and let Paul handle it in his own way.
