Ports 1961 At The Olympics
July 25, 2008 @ 10:57 amTia Cibani is hopping on the Olympic bandwagon.
The creative director for New York-based brand Ports 1961 signed a deal with NBC Universal to dress its MSNBC, NBC, USA Network and CNBC commentators for the full duration of the Games from August 8 to August 24.
Says designer, “I wanted to do something in cooperation with the Olympics.”
Each gal will wear three outfits designed by Cibani per day, which is a whole lot of clothes over three weeks.
Ports 1961 joins the likes of Rei Kawakubo in the 2008 Olympic Games designing arena — Rei Kawakubo is designing Speedos for the swimmers.
We like a little competitive couture.
